All of this is great news for pacific poker players. Don´t get me wrong—I´m not suggesting that any of these riverboats will ever compare with the mega-resorts of Las Vegas and Atlantic City or the amazing free online pacific poker bonuses. Indeed, there are many gamblers who prefer not to wait on line to get into a casino, or be “locked into one” for a few hours until the cruise ends. But the simple truth is that these casinos will be competitive not only with each other, but with the rest of the free poker and click2pay gaming industry. And you know what competition means—a good deal!

Play Poker
A short passage from Play Poker

DECK OF FIFTY-TWO CARDS
It would hardly be pacific poker without the cards. If you are playing with a brand-new deck, take out the Jokers and any miscellaneous cards, and then give the deck a good shuffle. If you are playing with a used deck, make sure it is complete and inspect the poker game cards for any wear-and-tear that may 'mark' them.

Online Poker Terms
A short passage from Online Poker Terms
Betting is the online poker language through which players convey to the table the strength of their hand. Of course, it is also used to deceive other pacific poker players, a technique known as bluffing. While each free poker game has its own nuances, there are several aspects common to all games.

Classic Poker Online
A short passage from Classic Poker Online
Before opening the pacific poker game, the dealer must decide how many cards each poker player can draw from the deck after the first round of betting. The standard limit is three. In some free poker games, a player may draw four cards if he is holding an Ace, which must be shown to the table.
After everyone has put in his or her ante, the dealer deals five cards facedown to each pacific poker player.
Betting begins with the player to the left of the dealer.

Rollin’ on the River With Pacific Poker

Poker PacificIf you haven’t noticed lately, our nation’s rivers are getting a bit crowded—with pacific poker riverboats. Iowa, Illinois, Mississippi, Missouri and Louisiana all now allow poker games on casino roulette riverboats, and more states are expected to jump on the bandwagon in the not-too-distant future.
Many of you have written to us about your trips to these “floating casinos” where you play poker and still more have asked for regular coverage and about free articles riverboats—which is no surprise, considering how rapidly this segment of the online poker and spela poker gaming industry is expanding, especially in places like Ladbrokes and Poker Forum.
Well, we’ve heard and we obey! I’m very pleased to announce the start of a monthly new riverboat section, exploring not only the best riverboat values and most advantageous pacific poker gaming rules (free casino rules not only vary from state to state, but from boat to boat). We’ll tell you where the new boats will be opening, and how different attempts to legalize riverboat pacific pokert gaming are shaping up in each state.
Why the appeal of casino riverboats? That’s a difficult question to answer, especially for those of us who live and breathe the enormous “land-based” casinos of Las Vegas and Atlantic City, not to mention the free online pacific poker games with all the bonuses involved. The major reason for legalizing any form of gaming, of course, is to generate additional revenues for the state in the form of taxes levied on gaming, and revitalize what may be a depressed area in need of revitalization (the very reason Atlantic City legalized casino and free pacific poker gaming fifteen years ago). But whereas most states are scared to introduce Las Vegas Casino-style, land-based casinos to their communities, they are far more responsive to small, controlled online casinos and poker on riverboats.
Whether or not this is hypocritical is really not the issue here. The fact is, there could be as many as 60 or 70 floating free casinos in those five states, mentioned above, by the end of 1995, with the potential of attracting some 30 million patrons annually — equal to poker Atlantic City with all the bluffs. So whereas one or two casino boats could be relatively insignificant to free online pacific poker gaming as a whole, the riverboats, as a group, will become the third major gaming venue in America—which translates to millions of dollars in tax revenues, and thousands of new jobs.
Now I may not be Nostradamus, but I think I can safely predict that riverboat pacific poker gaming won’t stop in the five states where they have have been legalized. Alabama, for instance, has been very close to legalizing a riverboat in Mobile, and Indiana has a host of potential towns chomping at the bit for poker gaming. Texas, Ohio and West Virginia should also legalize floating free online casinos within a year.
And why not? No state legislature is going to sit back for long and watch its residents contribute tax dollars to neighboring states when they could just as easily be directed to its own coffers. Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, poker online Kentucky and even New York have all explored the idea, and it’s just a matter of time before at least a few of them give the go ahead.
Some of casino gaming’s most recognizable companies have jumped on the riverboat bandwagon, and will be opening their own boats this year. The Promus Companies, which owns and operates all the Harrah’s properties around the country, has plans in the works in Vicksburg, Mississippi; Shreveport, Louisiana; joliet, Illinois; and North Kansas City, Missouri. Hilton Hotels Corp. is currently building a free pacific poker riverboat for New Orleans, and recently announced plans for another riverboat in Kansas City, Missouri. Pratt Hotels, parent company of the Sands in Atlantic City, will be opening two river- boats in poker Aurora, Illinois. It’s only a matter of time before Mirage and Showboat announce their own free poker games projects. And read about Players International—the Player’s Club people—which will open their first riverboat in Metropolis, Illinois, in Casino Player’s new Riverboat Department.
All of this is great news for pacific poker players. Don’t get me wrong—I’m not suggesting that any of these riverboats will ever compare with the mega-resorts of Las Vegas and Atlantic City or the amazing free online pacific poker bonuses. Indeed, there are many gamblers who prefer not to wait on line to get into a casino, or be “locked into one” for a few hours until the cruise ends. But the simple truth is that these casinos will be competitive not only with each other, but with the rest of the free texas holdem poker and click2pay gaming industry. And you know what competition means—a good deal!
